Banana-Ginger Rice With Dates
|Water||480 Milliliter (2 Cups)|
|Caribbean oil||10 Milliliter (2 Teaspoons)|
|Ground ginger||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Long grain rice||1 Cup (16 tbs) (White/Brown)|
|Ripe banana||1 , diced|
|Chopped and pitted dates/Raisins||120 Milliliter (1/2 Cup)|
In a heavy bottomed, 2-3-quart saucepan bring water, oil, molasses, ginger and salt to a boil.
Add rice and stir well.
Simmer covered for 15 minutes.
Simmer for 5 more minutes with the lid slightly open.
Gently fold the banana and the dates into the rice.
Allow to stand, covered, for 10 minutes.
