Easy Caramel Custard
|Granulated sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Milk||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Eggs||4 , beaten|
|Granulated sugar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1 Dash|
For caramel, combine sugar and water in a small glass bowl.
Microwave on HI Power for 4 1/2 to 5 minutes, or until sugar is golden brown.
Pour into 4 buttered microproof custard cups.
Set aside until custard is ready.
To prepare custard, heat milk in a 1 quart glass measure on HI Power for 5 minutes.
Quickly beat in eggs, sugar and vanilla extract.
Pour over caramel in custard cups.
Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Arrange in circular pattern.
Microwave on Power 5 for 7 to 9 minutes, or until custard is set.
Let stand until cool.
Refrigerate for 2 or 3 hours before inverting to serve.
