Thick Custard

Ingredients
  Cornstarch 2 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vanilla bean piece/1/3 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 Inch
  Egg yolks 2
  Honey 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Dissolve cornstarch in a little of the cold milk.
Heat remaining milk in top of double boiler, with vanilla bean if using it.
Remove bean, slit pod open and using the tip of the knife, scrape inside of pod into milk.
Discard bean.
Stir dissolved cornstarch into hot milk and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
Beat egg yolks with honey.
Stir a little of the hot milk into the egg mixture, then stir this into the remaining hot milk.
Cook for approximately 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Add vanilla extract, if using it.
Pour into container and chill.
