Apple Flan

Ingredients
  Pastry 1⁄2
  Cooking apples 4
  Water 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
  Jam 3 Tablespoon
  Cashewnuts 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), chopped
  Apples 4 , thinly sliced
  Sugar To Taste
  Cinnamon powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Hot water 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Prepare pastry dough.
Roll out into 1/8 inch thick circle and line a greased pie dish.
Trim and flute the edges.
Prick all over.
Chill for one hour.
To prepare filling, peel, core and chop apples.
Combine apple, sugar, water and butter in a saucepan and place it on fire.
Cover and cook till apple is tender.
Mash apple with the back of a spoon.
Add nuts and cinnamon powder.
Let it cool completely.
Pour apple mixture in the chilled pastry.
Arrange apple slices on top in an overlapping manner.
Sprinkle two tablespoons sugar.
Bake in the lower shelf of a hot oven (210°C) for 30 to 35 minutes.
After removing the pie from the oven, spread jam on the top (add 1 tablespoon warm water to jam to reach spreading consistency).
