Baked Chocolate Custard
|Milk||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Semisweet chocolate pieces||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Eggs||3 , beaten|
|Sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Whipped cream||1 Tablespoon|
|Slivered almonds||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), toasted|
In saucepan combine milk and chocolate pieces; stir over low heat till chocolate melts.
In mixing bowl combine eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt; gradually stir in chocolate mixture.
Pour into six 5-ounce custard cups; set in shallow pan on oven rack.
Pour hot water around cups in pan to depth of 1 inch.
Bake at 325° till knife inserted just off-center comes out clean, 40 to 45 minutes.
Invert custards onto serving dishes.
