Currant Squares

Currant squares are a nice way to highlight your baking skills. This recipe is rather simple but wins hearts and impresses people right away. You too will like this recipe and the squares at once.
Ingredients
  Currants 100 Gram
  All-purpose flour 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Lemon juice 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pie crust 2
  Confectioner' s sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

MAKING
1)Take a saucepan and add currants, flour, sugar, 1 cup water, cinnamon and lemon juice in it.
2)Cook on low heat until thick. Keep stirring.
3)Roll pastry out on floured surface and divide in half.
4)Roll each half to fit 16 x 11 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
5)Put the pastry half in pan and spread currant mixture on it.
6)Cover with remaining pastry half and seal pastry edges together.
7)Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool.
8)Sift confectioners' sugar on top and cut into squares.

SERVING
9)Serve the currant squares for snack with tea.
