2. Cut the bread slices into 1/2-inch cubes.
3. Spread in a shallow baking pan and mix together butter and garlic powder.
4. Drizzle the garlic-butter mixture over the bread cubes and toss to coat well.
5. Bake in 300°F oven for about 30 minutes.
6. Store in an airtight container.
7. Serve the croutons atop soups or stew. It can even be used in salads.
