Frosted Ginger Cream
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sour milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Molasses||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Powdered sugar||To Taste (For dusting)|
Cream shortening and sugar; add egg, mixing well.
Add spices and salt.
Combine soda with milk; add to creamed mixture.
Add molasses and flour to make soft batter.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees until brown.
Spread thin powdered sugar frosting on warm cookies.
Yield: 4 dozen.
