1. Scald the cream with the vanilla pod. Then add the sugar and the salt and mix well. Set aside to cool.
2. Strain the vanilla pod and then freeze the mixture to make a semi-solid mush.
3. Whip the mixture in a chilled bowl and free for 2 hours. Whip the mixture twice during the 2 hours.
4. Serve cold or store in a container.
