Simple Whipped Cream

Ingredients
  Gelatin 1⁄2 Teaspoon (unflavored)
  Cold water 1 Tablespoon
  Heavy cream 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1 Pinch
  Vanilla extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Tablespoon
Directions

1. Sprinkle the gelatin over the water in a small ovenproof bowl or custard cup, then set the bowl into 1 inch of hot water in a saucepan. Let stand until the gelatin dissolves. Remove the bowl from the water, and let the mixture cool for about 1 minute.
2. Whip the cream until almost stiff, then add the dissolved gelatin mixture, the salt and vanilla, and the sugar if used, and continue to whip until the cream is stiff. Cover and refrigerate. Just before serving, beat with a spoon to blend.
