Herring In Cream

Ingredients
  Salt herring 1 Pound (dressed boned)
  Dairy sour cream 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Onion 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), chopped
  Parsley 1 Tablespoon, snipped
  Lemon juice 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Cut herring in 1-inch pieces.
Place in earthen ware or glass container; cover with cold water.
Soak 8 hours or over- night; change water 2 or 3 times.
Drain.
Mix with the remaining ingredients.
Chill well
