Sour Cream Nut Cookies

  Shortening 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Sugar 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Flour 1 2⁄3 Cup (26.67 tbs) (Gold Medal)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Soda 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Commercial sour cream 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chopped nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Nutmeg 1⁄4 Teaspoon

Heat oven to 400°
Mix shortening, 2/3 cup sugar, and egg thoroughly.
Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting.
Stir dry ingredients together; blend into shortening-sugar mixture alternately with sour cream.
Stir in nuts.
Drop dough by teaspoonfuls about 2" apart on greased baking sheet.
Flatten with greased bottom of glass dipped in sugar.
Mix 1 tbsp sugar and nutmeg; sprinkle on top of cookies.
Bake 8 to 10 min.
