Veal In Sour Cream
|Veal steak||2 Pound, cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes|
|Minced onion||1 Tablespoon|
|Commercial sour cream||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Melt 3 tablespoons butter in heavy frying pan and saute meat over high heat until lightly browned on all sides.
Do not crowd in the pan; rather do a few pieces at a time.
Place meat in baking dish or casserole that has a cover.
Add flour to fat remaining in frying pan, and stir until smooth.
Then stir in the sour cream thoroughly.
Remove from heat.
In a separate pan, melt 2 tablespoons butter and cook minced onion until slightly golden, then add mushrooms (if large, slice thin; if small, leave whole), and simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes.
Combine mushrooms with sour cream mixture and salt.
Pour over veal, cover, and bake in a 325° oven for 1 hour or until meat is tender when pierced with a fork.
