|All purpose flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Parmesan cheese||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), freshly grated|
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder and cheese.
Cut in butter or margarine with a pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until dough holds together.
Preheat oven to 300F (150C).
Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/8 inch thick.
Cut into animal shapes with 2-inch cookie cutters.
Put on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake until lightly browned and crisp, 12 to 15 minutes.
Remove crackers to a cooling rack.
Store completely cooled crackers in an airtight container.
