Homemade Graham Crackers

Ingredients
  Whole wheat flour 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Cream of tartar 1 Teaspoon
  Egg 1 , lightly beaten
  Hot water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Approximately)
  Unbleached white flour 5 Tablespoon
Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Put the whole wheat flour in a bowl. Cut in the butter until the mixture is the consistency of coarse oatmeal. Add the sugar, baking soda, cream of tartar, egg, and enough hot water to make a dough that can be rolled like pastry.
3. Roll out the dough to 1/8- to 1/4-inch thickness on a floured pastry cloth or board (use unbleached flour for rolling). Cut into 3-inch squares. Place on an un-greased baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until done. Cool on a wire rack.
