Hot Quail Pie
|Hot sauce||To Taste|
|Bottled browning sauce||1 Teaspoon|
|Cooked diced carrots||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Canned green peas||5 Ounce|
|Buttermilk biscuits||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cook quail in 4 cups water with salt and pepper until tender.
Drain; reserve liquid.
Remove quail from bones; place in reserved liquid.
Saute onion in marga- rine until tender.
Add flour; stir well.
Add quail mix- ture, hot sauce and browning sauce; cook over low heat until thickened.
Add carrots and peas; pour into deep baking dish.
Place biscuits on top.
Bake in 375-degree oven for about 30 minutes; serve hot.
