Rhubarb And Fig Pie
|Figs||1⁄2 Pound (or dates)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Ground ginger||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Soak figs for a little while in hot water, then cut them into small pieces, removing stalks.
Peel and cut up into short lengths.
Arrange the two kinds of fruit in a pie dish, sprinkling them with the sugar and ginger.
Pile high in centre.
Cover with pastry and bake in a moderate oven.
