Triple Decker Pie Layer
|Unflavored gelatin||2 Tablespoon (2 Envelopes)|
|Water||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Sorbitol/2 teaspoons granulated sugar||3 Tablespoon|
|Vanilla extract||2 Teaspoon|
In a saucepan, sprinkle gelatin over water, allow to soften for 5 minutes.
Place pan over medium heat and bring to a boil.
Cook until gelatin is dissolved.
Remove from heat, add sorbitol and white vanilla.
Stir to blend completely.
Allow to cool until mixture is consistency of thick syrup.
Beat egg whites into soft peaks.
With a slow stream, add gelatin mixture, beating constantly into stiff peaks.
Spread over entire surface of pie.
Chill until firm.
