Corn Bread (Johnnycake)

Ingredients
  Cornmeal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Shortening 4 Tablespoon
  Flour 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Baking powder 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon, melted
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Mix and sift the dry ingredients.
Combine the eggs and milk and stir into the dry ingredients.
Stir in melted fat and pour into a greased baking pan.
Bake in a hot oven (425° F) for about 25 minutes.
