Combine first 5 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; set aside.
Combine milk, eggs, and cheese; add to dry ingredients, mixing well.
Pour batter into a hot, greased 10 1/2-inch cast-iron skillet.
Bake at 425Â° for 15 minutes or until cornbread is golden.
