Dixie Cornbread

Ingredients
  Corn meal 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  White flour 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Baking powder 3 Tablespoon
  Soda 1⁄4 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 Tablespoon
  Buttermilk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Melted butter 4 Tablespoon
  Sugar 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Mix and sift together corn meal, flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
To these dry ingredients add buttermilk (to which soda has been added).
Add eggs (well beaten).
Mix thoroughly, add melted butter.
If using automatic waffle iron, preheat to baking temperature.
Pour batter on iron and bake until brown.
