|Baking powder||1 Tablespoon|
|Cornmeal||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Eggs||2 , beaten|
|Butter||4 Tablespoon, melted|
|Milk||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.
Stir in the cornmeal and sugar.
Make a well in the center and add the eggs, butter and a little milk.
Beat with a wooden spoon, adding the remaining milk a little at a time until you have a smooth batter.
Turn the mixture into a greased 7-inch square pan and smooth the top.
Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown and firm to the touch.
Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Cut into squares to serve.
