Simple Corn Bread

Ingredients
  Cornmeal 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  All purpose flour 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Shortening 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Buttermilk 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Eggs 2
Directions

Heat oven to 450°.
Mix all ingredients; beat vigorously 30 seconds.
Pour into greased square pan, 9x9x2 inches.
Bake until top springs back when touched lightly in center, about 20 minutes.
