Perfect Corn Bread

Ingredients
  All purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Baking powder 4 Teaspoon
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Yellow corn meal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Soft shortening 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Sift first 4 ingredients together; stir in corn meal.
Add eggs, milk, and shortening.
Beat with rotary or electric beater till just smooth, about 1 minute.
Pour into greased 9x9x2-inch pan.
Bake at 425° for 20 to 25 minutes.
