Cook green pepper and onion in cup butter till onion is golden but not brown.
Add soft bread crumbs, corn, eggs, and salt; mix lightly.
Combine dry bread crumbs, 2 tablespoons melted butter; set aside.
Place corn mixture in 8 x1 1/2-inch round baking dish, mounding in center; sprinkle top with buttered crumbs.
Bake uncovered in moderate oven (350°) 25 minutes; stand frankfurters cut end down in a crown around edge of stuffing, and continue baking 15 minutes longer.
