However, if you wish to get the  taste exactly right, you have to include Graham flour which is  easily available. Here are some more tips for success in your endeavor.

Tips for making crackers at home:

Dough:

  • When you are rolling the dough, ensure that the dough is thin enough. It should not be more than 1/8 inches thick. The dough can be divided into halves or in quarters. It is best to roll out one piece at a time rather than trying to work on the whole dough once. This is specially suggested when you are making these crackers the first time.

Shape of the crackers:

  • There is no specific rule about the shape of the crackers. If you wish you can make these squares or round in shape or any other shape you desire. To make them of the right shape, you can use cookie cutters or biscuit cutters – these will help you to get neat shapes.Preparing the dough for crackers

Prick the crackers:

  • Most people make a mistake of not pricking crackers with a fork which is actually a very important part of the baking process. If these are not pricked using a fork, they will not remain flat in the cookie sheet and won’t bake well at the end.Crackers ready to be served

Keep a close watch:

  •  Do not move anywhere or do not get yourself involved with any other task that much divert your attention when you are baking the crackers. Try to keep a close watch on the crackers while they are in the end. Check if the bottoms are golden brown in color and if the edges are starting to turn brown. When you find that a few crackers have reached a particular cooked stage, you can remove these from the sheet and bake the others for some more time.

It’s a simple task to bake these homemade crackers – all you need is a little bit of practice.
