Tips To Make Homemade Smoothies

Smoothies made at home are certainly healthier and tastier than the ones we buy from the supermarkets. The homemade ones do not always turn out perfect and we feel that something is amiss. Here are some simple tips and ideas on how to make the perfect smoothies at home with very little effort.


 


 


 


Choose fruits carefully:


You will be blending all your fruits but it does not mean you can pick up any fruit for the smoothie. Choose fresh and juicy fruits or you might not get the desired freshness and flavor.


 


Put the liquid first:


When you are putting the ingredients in the blender, do not place the fruits first. Instead put the liquid first in the blender. This makes it easy for the blender to carry out the processing and causes its free movement.


 


Speed of the blender:


Most of us do not realize this important part when preparing smoothie. You need to start with the lowest speed and move ahead with the highest speed. It is best if you are able to turn the speed to 1/3 of the way and then wait. You will notice that the bigger pieces of the fruits are slowly breaking up and a vortex starts forming in the center part. You can then add to the speed once more. You can increase the speed very quickly and you will notice that air bubbles are forming quickly and the blades are spinning well. This is what we need – shaking will no longer be needed.


 


Add flavors:


Smoothies often taste bland if flavors are not added. In case you are not happy with the natural flavors of the fruits, you can add your favorite flavoring essence and turn the blender once again. It shall give the much desired flavor to the smoothie.


 


Smoothies are really nutritious – prepare them at home and store them in your refrigerator for a few hours, to enjoy them the most.
