- It’s important to thaw frozen bacon before cooking to ensure that the taste and texture of the meat remains intact. The best way to thaw it is to wrap it loosely in a foil or put it inside a zipped pouch and leave it overnight in the refrigerator. However, if you do not have much time to spare, you can microwave frozen bacon too. Just turn on the defrost setting of your microwave and heat it for a couple of minute or until the meat is completely thawed.
- Slit your defrosted bacon into strips. If the bacon still tends to stick together, you can use a butter knife to pry them apart. Cover a microwave safe plate with a piece of paper towel. This step is important since not doing it can results in limp, soggy bacon. Arrange the bacon strips on top of the paper towel and cover it another piece of paper towel. Take off the plate from the microwave and using a wooden spoon or spatula, gently press the bacons, as doing so will cause the paper towels to soak excess of grease.
- Allow the bacon to stand for about 3-4 minutes. Now gently remove the paper towel and allow the bacon to cook for some more time before serving.
