Chocolate Macaroon

Chocolate macaroon is a type of a crisp cookie. Macaroons are made with meringues and are every child’s favorite. Common chocolate macaroon variations are cherry chocolate macaroon, chocolate chip macaroon, chocolate pecan macaroon, etc Making Chocolate Macaroons Chocolate Macaroons are made with a batter of beaten egg whites, sugar and cocoa powder which is then baked into different shapes. There are two ways of making chocolate macaroons the plain and the sandwiched. Plain macaroons are irregular shaped as the batter is spooned out on baking sheet while the ones to be sandwiched are piped out neatly into small discs and then baked. The sandwiched macaroons are then applied with a chocolate frosting on the smooth side and stuck with smooth side of another macaroon. They are often dusted with powdered sugar and served as petit desserts.
