|Brown sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Sifted flour||3 1⁄2 Cup (56 tbs)|
|Baking soda||1 Teaspoon|
|Cream of tartar||1 Teaspoon|
|Chopped walnuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cream vegetable shortening, sugar, and eggs.
Mix dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture.
Add nuts and vanilla.
Shape into 2 rolls and wrap in waxed paper or clear plastic wrap.
Store in refrigerator until cold, about 6 hours.
Slice 1/4 inch thick and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375° for 5 minutes or until lightly browned.
