Gingerbread Boys

Gingerbread Boys has a Piquant taste. The eggs and molasses give the Gingerbread Boys Cool taste. Must catch it.
Ingredients
  Flour 3 1⁄4 Cup (52 tbs)
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Ginger 1 Teaspoon
  Ground cloves 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 2 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Vegetable shortening 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Molasses 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Egg 1
Directions

Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, soda, and spices.
In large mixer bowl, cream together vegetable shortening and sugar; add molasses and egg and beat well.
Gradually add dry ingredients; stir to form a stiff dough.
Chill 1 hour.
On lightly floured surface, roll dough 1/4 inch thick.
Cut in gingerbread boy shapes.
Place 1 inch apart on greased cookie sheet. (To make cookies stand up, arrange bamboo skewers on baking sheet; place cookie on each, so skewer is 1/3 the way up back of cookie.)
Decorate with red cinnamon candies for faces and buttons.
Bake at 375° for 5 to 6 minutes.
Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet and cool on rack.
Trim with Confectioners Sugar Glaze.
