|Ground blanched almonds||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Almond extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Egg yolk||1 , lightly beaten|
|Blanched whole almonds||24|
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a mixer bowl.
Add butter, sugar, ground almonds and almond extract.
Mix until well combined.
Knead on a lightly floured board until smooth, Shape dough into 24 uniform balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
Brush with beaten egg yolk and press an almond into the top of each cookie.
Bake in a preheated 350Â° oven 15 to 20 minutes or until golden.
Remove to a cake rack to cool.
