Bon Bon Cookies's picture
I made this Bon Bon Cookies last weekend when I had a get together at home; believe me, it was dead simple and was a great hit too. In fact, the blend of bon bon icing and vanilla gives out a delightful combination, which is sure to make a bland party go ravishing and unforgettable!
Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), softened (1 Stick)
  Confectioner's sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Vanilla extract 1 Tablespoon
  Flour 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Pecan halves/Walnut halves 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Gumdrops 1 Tablespoon, halved horizontally
  Bon bon icing 1 Tablespoon

Combine the butter, confectioners' sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl and beat until smooth.
Add a mixture of the flour and salt; blend completely using the hands.
Wrap a level tablespoonful of dough around each pecan half or around the bottom half of each gumdrop.
Arrange 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until set but not brown.
Dip the tops of the warm cookies in Bon Bon Icing.
Top each with a pecan half or the top half of a gumdrop.
Sprinkle with colored sugar if desired.
