|Post sugar krinkles||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs) (or Post Sugar Crisp)|
|Candied cherries||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), candied|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Dark corn syrup||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Milk||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Butter||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs) (or margarine)|
Place cereal and cherries in a large greased bowl; mix together lightly.
Combine sugar, salt, soda, corn syrup, and milk in saucepan.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve sugar.
Continue boiling, stirring constantly, until a small amount of mixture forms a firm ball in cold water (or to a temperature of 246Â°F.).
Remove from heat and cool 1 minute.
Add vanilla and butter and beat until thick.
Pour over cereal and mix well.
Let stand until mixture is cold.
Butter hands lightly and shape into 2-inch balls.
If desired, tie balls with red and green ribbons.
