Twinkle Toes Clowns

Ingredients
  Toasties/Grape-nuts flakes 6 Cup (96 tbs) (Post Brand)
  Honey/Molasses 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄2 Tablespoon
Directions

Grease a bowl and place in the greased bowl.
Combine honey, sugar, and salt in saucepan.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve sugar.
Continue boiling until a small amount of syrup forms a firm ball in cold water (or to a temperature of 246°F.).
Add butter.
Pour syrup over cereal in bowl, stirring lightly to coat flakes.
Butter hands lightly and shape cereal mixture loosely into rings to resemble clown ruffs.
Chill.
Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the center of each ruff for a clown's head.
Use raisins for eyes and a slice of red apple for mouth.
Place a small ice cream cone on the side of the head for a hat.
Use recipe for Twinkle Toes Clowns (left), mixing 1/3 cup choppedi if nuts with the cereal.
Shape mixture into small balls.
Serve as confections.
