|Firmly packed brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|

|Raisin bran||2 Cup (32 tbs) (Post Brand)|
|Chopped nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Semi sweet chocolate chips||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Baker's Brand)|
|Coconut/2 cups post toasties / post 40% bran flakes / grape-nuts flakes and add 0.25 cup raisins||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), cut (Baker's Brand)|
Sift flour once, measure, add soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and sift again.
Cream shortening and add sugar gradually, creaming thoroughly.
Add milk and eggs and beat well.
Add flour mixture and mix well; then add cereal and nuts.
Divide mixture in three parts.
To one part, add chocolate chips.
To the second part, add coconut.
Use the remaining batter plain.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet and bake in moderate oven (375Â°F.) from 10 to 12 minutes or until done.
