Bountiful Fruit Cookies

Ingredients
  All purpose flour/Unbleached / self-rising flour 2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs) (Pillsbury's Best)
  Firmly packed brown sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cinnamon 2 Teaspoon
  Soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cream of tartar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Margarine/Butter softened 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Parkay)
  Grated orange peel 1 Tablespoon
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Egg 1
  Chopped almonds 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Chopped pitted prunes/Dates 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Heat oven to 350°F.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
In large bowl, combine all ingredients except almonds and prunes; blend at low speed until well mixed and dough forms.
By hand, stir in almonds and prunes.
Shape into 1-inch balls; place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350°F. for 12 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown around edges.
Cool cookies 1 minute before removing from cookie sheets.
