|Flour||2 Cup (32 tbs), sifted|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon (Preferably Calumet)|
|Butter/Other shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Packed brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs) (Firmly Packed)|
|Vanilla||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Lemon juice||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Toasties/Post 40% bran flakes.||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs) (Preferably Post)|
Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt, and sift again.
Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, and cream together until light and fluffy.
Add flour gradually; then add vanilla, lemon juice, and cereal.
Shape into rolls, 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
Wrap in waxed paper and chill overnight, or until firm.
Cut into thin slices.
Bake in hot oven (400Â°F) for 5 to 6 minutes.
