Gangnam Style Christmas Cookie



Shortening 1 Cup (16 tbs) , melted, cooled slightly (butter flavored)
Molasses 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs) (packed)
Water 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Eggs 1 Large
Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
Butter extract 1/2 Teaspoon
All purpose flour 6 Cup (96 tbs)
Baking powder 1 Tablespoon
Ginger powder 1 Tablespoon
Nutmeg powder 1 Teaspoon
Ground cloves 1 Teaspoon
Cinnamon powder 1 Tablespoon
Butter 2 Tablespoon , melted
Royal icing
Confectioners sugar 1/2 Pound
Meringue powder mix/Dried egg white powder 1 Tablespoon
Water 3 Tablespoon



1. In a bowl, mix the ginger, baking powder, nutmeg, flour, clove powder, and cinnamon powder. Set aside.

2. In another bowl, put the brown sugar, shortening, water, molasses, egg and the vanilla and butter extracts. Mix well until smooth.

3. Add the flour mixture to the wet mixture slowly and mix till well combined to a dough.

4. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions. Put it in plastic bags, seal and refrigerate for minimum 3 hours or preferably overnight.

5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C).


6. On a flat work surface, sprinkle four lightly.

7. Take a portion of the dough and roll out the dough until it is about 1/4 inch thick.

8. Using cookie cutters, cut into gingerbread man or any desired shape.

9. Place them about 1 inch apart from each other on a cookie sheet.

10. Bake in the preheated oven for around 12 minutes or till they begin to look dry.

11. Transfer them immediately to a cooling rack and allow to cool completely.

12. ICING: In a bowl, put sugar, meringue powder and water. Mix well till combined.

13. Fill the icing into a plastic bag or icing bag and decorate the cookies as desired.

14. Let the icing harden before serving.


15. In a serving plate, serve these cookies with mil or any other refreshing drink of choice.
