This Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe holds fairly true to that recipe you used to find on the chocolate chip bag here in Canada - and probably in the U.S. as well. These chocolate chip cookies are dense and chewy in the centre and crisp around the edges. Pretty close to the classic tollhouse chocolate chip cookie. Some would say the perfect chocolate chip cookie.

Ingredients

Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs) , softened
Packed brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Granulated sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Eggs 2
Vanilla 1 Tablespoon
All purpose flour 2 1/3 Cup (37.33 tbs)
Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Semisweet chocolate chips 2 Cup (32 tbs)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. In a bowl, combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, and butter. Beat them together until fluffy.

2. Drop egg, one at a time, and mix after each addition.

3. Add vanilla and mix well.

4. In a separate bowl, add flour, baking soda, and salt. Whisk well.

5. Throw dry ingredients into the bowl with egg mixture. Mix to incorporate.

6. Add chocolate chips, and fold to spread evenly.

7. Scoop batter and drop it on baking sheet.

8. Preheat oven to 375 degree F or 190 degree C.

MAKING

9. Place baking sheet in the oven, and bake cookies for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden.

10. Let cookies cool in the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Transfer them on a wire rack, to cool completely.

SERVING

11. Serve cookies with a cup of hot coffee.

TIPS

You can also add raisins with chocolate chips.
