Betty's Halloween Chocolate Ice-Box Cookies

Betty demonstrates how to make Halloween Chocolate Ice Box Cookies. These are dark chocolate cookies that can be decorated for Halloween or other special occasions.

Ingredients

Butter 10 Tablespoon , softened (((1 stick+2 tablespoons)))
Granulated sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Light brown sugar 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , firmly packed
Cocoa powder 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (((unsweetened)))
Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
Eggs 1
All purpose flour 1 3/4 Cup (28 tbs)
Baking soda 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon

Directions

GETTING READY

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla. Blend until nice and fluffy.

2. Drop egg, and beat to combine well. Set aside.

3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.

4. Gradually throw flour into the butter mixture. Whisk after each addition.

5. Form dough into logs of desired size. Place each log on waxed paper. Roll and secure the ends. Pop it in refrigerator for at least four hours or longer.

6. After 4 hours, unwrap logs and place them on cutting board.

7. With a sharp knife cut them into 3/8-inch wide slices.

8. Line a baking pan with parchment paper, and place cookies on it.

9. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.

MAKING

10. Place baking pan in oven, and bake for about 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.

11. Remove cookies immediately from pan, and place them on wire rack. Let cool for about 20 minute.

SERVING

12. Transfer cookies on serving plate, decorate it with frosting and serve immediately.

TIPS

If you want to make butter cookie then just skip out cocoa powder, and mix the other ingredients together.

It takes 8 minutes for smaller cookies to bake whereas larger ones take 10 minutes.
