Ginger Drop Cookies
|Shortening||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Molasses||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Flour||5 Cup (80 tbs)|
|Confectioner' s sugar||1 Tablespoon|
Cream shortening and sugar; add egg, beating well.
Dissolve soda in 1 cup hot water; add alternately with salt, ginger and flour to egg mixture.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes.
Frost with confectioners' sugar icing while warm.
Yield: 4-5 dozen.
