Old Fashioned Gingersnaps

  All-purpose flour 2 3⁄4 Cup (44 tbs)
  Baking soda 2 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Ginger 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground cloves 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Packed brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Butter 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), softened
  Egg 1
  Light molasses 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Ounce
Directions

GETTING READY
1 Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2 Lightly grease a baking sheet.

MAKING
3 In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, salt, and cloves.
4 Beat in the brown sugar and butter until light.
5 Gradually beat in the egg and molasses until light.
6 Blend in the flour mixture.
7 Chill the dough thoroughly.
8 Shape the dough into 3/4-inch balls.
9 Roll in granulated sugar to coat.
10 On the prepared baking sheets, place the rolls spaced about 2 inches apart.
11 Using the bottom of a flat-bottomed coffee mug or glass, flatten the rolls.
12 Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies are set.
13 Allow to cool on wire rack.

SERVING
14 Serve as desired.
