Ingredients
  Self-raising flour 4 Ounce (110 Gram)
  Ground ginger 1 Teaspoon (Slightly Rounded Teaspoon)
  Soda bicarbonate 1 Teaspoon
  Granulated sugar 1 1⁄2 Ounce (40 Gram)
  Margarine 2 Ounce (50 Gram)
  Golden syrup 2 Ounce (50 Gram, 2 Tablespoons)
Directions

GETTING READY
1 Preheat the oven.

MAKING
2 In a mixing bowl, sift the flour, ginger and bicarbonate of soda.
3 Add in the sugar.
4 Lightly rub in the margarine until the mixture is crumbly.
5 Add in the syrup, mixing everything together to form a stiff paste.
6 Evenly divide the mixture into sixteen pieces.
7 Roll each piece into a little ball.
8 Arrange them on the baking sheet, leaving enough space between them.
9 Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a spoon.
10 Bake just above the centre of the oven for 10-15 minutes.
11 Allow to cool on the baking sheet for about 10 minutes.
12 Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

SERVING
13 Serve as desired.
14 Store in an airtight tin.
