Orange Oatmeal Chippers
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Light brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs), lightly packed|
|Grated orange peel||1 Teaspoon|
|Orange juice||1 Tablespoon|
|Flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Baking soda||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Quick cooking rolled oats||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), uncooked|
|Semi sweet chocolate pieces||6 Ounce (1 Cup, 1 Package)|
|Chopped walnuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Grease cookie sheets; set aside.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixer bowl, cream shortening and brown sugar.
Beat in egg, orange peel and juice.
Add flour and baking soda.
Beat until smooth.
Stir in oats, chocolate pieces and walnuts.
Drop from a teaspoon onto prepared cookie sheets.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown.
