Peanut Brittle

Ingredients
  White sugar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Corn syrup 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Raw shelled peanuts 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
  Soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Combine the sugar, water, and corn syrup in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.
Bring to the boil.
Cover and cook 3 minutes.
Uncover, add the peanuts, and cook without stirring to the soft-crack stage, 280 degrees.
Add the salt and the butter, and continue cooking and stirring constantly to the hard-crack stage, 300 degrees.
Add the soda.
Spread quickly onto a large, very well-greased tray or marble slab.
Using 2 wooden spoons, spread the hot candy as thin as it will go without separating.
Cool and break into pieces.
Store in a tight-fitting container.
