Oatmeal Macaroons

Oatmeal Macaroons are a healthy snack to accompany tea or coffee. You will enjoy the crunchy taste of oats and will want more of it. They are quick and easy to make. Oatmeal macaroons are ready in less than 30 minutes.
Ingredients
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Molasses 1 Tablespoon
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Egg 1
  All purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Quick cooking oats 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Seedless raisins 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Dates 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Directions

MAKING
1)In a bowl, beat together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
2)Add molasses, vanilla and egg and beat well.
3)In another bowl, sift together flour, salt, cinnamon and soda.
4)Mix it with creamed mixture well.
5)Add oats, raisins and dates.
6)Take a greased baking sheet and drop batter with teaspoon on it.
7)Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.

SERVING
8)Serve the oatmeal macaroons at the snack time.
