Spice Cookies

An evening cup of tea or coffee is not as enjoyable without a great accompaniment. These Spice Cookies are a great choice. Flavored with cinnamon, cloves, ginger and cardamom, these cookies are unique in taste. The sugar and cream well-balances the taste of the spices.
Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Dark corn syrup 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sifted flour 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Mace 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Cloves 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ginger 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cardamom 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Soda 1 Teaspoon
  Sour cream 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

GETTING READY
1) Grease a baking sheet.

MAKING
2) In a bowl, combine and cream the butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
3) Add in the syrup and beat well.
4) Sift together the flour, spices, salt, pepper, and soda.
5) Add into the creamed mix, alternating with sour cream.
6) Mix well after each addition.
7) Divide the dough in half.
8) Shape into diamond-shaped strips.
9) Wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate for several hours.
10) Cut into 1/8-inch slices and arrange on the baking sheet.
11) Place in the oven at 375° F and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.

SERVING
12) Serve lightly dusted with cinnamon.
