Hazelnut Cookies

Ingredients
  Butter 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Confectioners sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1 Large
  Rum 2 Tablespoon
  Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Hazelnuts 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Hazelnuts 1 Tablespoon, sliced
Directions

1) Moderately heat oven to 375° F (190°C).
2) Grease cookie sheets lightly with butter.

MAKING
3) For the Electric Mixer Method, cream butter in a bowl.
4) Beat in sugar till fluffy.
5) Beat egg, rum and vanilla extract.
6) In a medium bowl mix thoroughly flour, salt and ground hazelnuts.
7) Add creamed mixture and blend.
8) For the Food Processor Method, begin with creaming butter using the appropriate blade.
9) Blend sugar well.
10) Add egg, rum and vanilla extracts while the processor is running and blend well.
11) In a medium bowl mix well flour, salt and ground hazelnuts.
12) Add one half of the quantity at a time to the workbowl and blend well.
13) Knead the dough and make into balls 1" in diameter.
14) Place on greased cookie sheets.
15) Dust glass bottom and press each ball into a flat disk about 1/4" thick.
16) Decorate in the pattern of sliced hazelnuts.
17) Bake for 15-17 minutes till it turns golden.
18) Shift on wire racks and cool.

SERVING
19) Serve cold.
