Toll House Cookies

Ingredients
  Sifted flour 18 Tablespoon
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Butter/Vegetable shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), softened to room temperature
  Sugar 6 Tablespoon
  Firmly packed light brown sugar 6 Tablespoon
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Egg 1
  Semisweet chocolate bits 6 Ounce (1 Package)
  Coarsely chopped pecans 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Preheat oven to 375° F.
Sift flour with baking soda and salt and set aside.
Cream butter, sugars, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg.
Mix in dry ingredients; stir in chocolate bits and pecans.
Drop by well-rounded 1/2 teaspoonfuls on lightly greased baking sheets, spacing cookies 2" apart.
Bake 10-12 minutes until lightly edged with brown.
Transfer immediately to wire racks to cool.
